Yahoo Site Explorer: A new Service by Yahoo
Yahoo Search is a popular service on internet which is used by millions of Internet users across the globe every day. Yahoo is also one of the three major search engines on the Internet.
Recently Yahoo has launched a very useful service “Yahoo Site Explorer” for the convenience of Webmasters and SEOs. Although this service is still in beta, but still very helpful to track web sites.
For example if you are a webmaster or a SEO and you have to see that how many pages of your websites are indexed in Yahoo, you use following command in Yahoo search box:
Site:yourdomainname.com
For example if you want to see how many pages of eMarketing-consultants.com are indexed in yahoo, you may type in Yahoo search box:
site:emarketing-consultants.com
Now, if you try this on Yahoo main search page, you will be directed to Yahoo Explorer page. From Yahoo explorer page, you can explore the URL of your web site or you can add your web site for tracking. You can also submit your site feed, webpage and export results to TSV.
In order to add a website for tracking you need to create Yahoo account. Once created Yahoo account you can add as many web sites as possible to your Yahoo account for tracking. After adding your web site, the next step is authentication of web site. The authentication process requires you to upload a txt file with a unique name and containing a string, all supplied by Yahoo for that particular web site. After uploading the file to the root of your web site, you can authenticate the site by just clicking “ready to authenticate” button.
Benefits of Yahoo Site Explorer:
You can track as many web sites as you like through Yahoo Site Explorer. You can explore each and every page of your web site and see the details of inbound links for each and every page of your web site. You can also see the details of all the sub-domains and explore them as mentioned above.
